Evaluation
For my personal investigative study, I decided on an essay titled ‘Do live broadcasts ruin the magic of theatre?’. To help me plan my essay I created a timetable, and this was really useful and helped me stay focussed. I also created a spider diagram. This was to prevent me from wandering off the subject and to keep to the 2000-word limit.
I found researching for my essay a challenge due to lockdown. It led to a lack of resources. I found many books and articles that I would have liked to read but was unable to have access to. Having access to them would have allowed me to write a more in-depth essay. However, the sources I was able to access give me evidence to support my ideas and I was surprised at how much had been written on the subject.
The essay had a clear introduction, body and conclusion but on reflection I feel that I spent too long on the introduction and struggled with the conclusion and did not answer the essay question in full. This was also evident in the feedback from draft 1 that the introduction and conclusion needed some adjustment. I readdressed this in the final draft by reducing the content in the introduction and increasing the conclusion so that it answers the essay question
